Angela Bentley
Angela is a trustee of ESTA and is Chair.
Angela was until her retirement this year, Head of Earth Sciences at Aquinas College in Stockport; a large North West Sixth Form College. She taught Geography and Geology A Levels.
In 2016 she had the privilege of being a Teacher at Sea (sponsored by NERC) working with Birmingham, Durham and Cardiff Universities.
Spending six weeks on the RRS James Cook with an amazing team of scientists she lectured around the country upon her return, bring the concept of Ocean Core Complexes and Asymmetrical Sea Floor Spreading to young people and a wider audience. This work influenced the A Level core content for the new Geology specifications.

Following this work she was awarded the Patrick Moore Medal for Outstanding Contribution to Education 2019 from the Royal Astronomical and Geophysics Society.
Angela serves on the Education and Outreach Committee for the Royal Astronomical Society and regularly attend lectures on Geography and Geology in order to keep up to date with subject knowledge.
